Buster B. Jones In 1988, the late Brad "Buster"  Jones entered Guitar Player Magazine's International Guitar Competition with his own composition, "Back Porch Boogie," and a rendition of "Limehouse Blues." He entered on a whim at the last minute, using a K-Mart cassette tape and a boom box. There were almost 900 entries and he won on the first ballot!! In 1990, he won the National Fingerpicking Championship at Winfield, Kansas. In his all too short lifetime he performed with Chet Atkins, Tommy Jones, Marcel Dadi, Thom Bresh, and John Knowles. He was a regular at the annual conventions in Nashville and France of the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society. In France they dubbed him "LE MACHINE GUN". "Buster B. Jones is an acoustic player, a fingerpicker, a country flavored soloist - and he's one of the finest players we've heard in years... His technique is only a means to an end. Buster Jones - Just Us - Book and CD
Although his scorching fingerpicking was most impressive, a closer look at "Just Us" reveals that Buster is equally adept at what many musicians consider as a more difficult task: playing fewer notes... ones that mean more and say more with less, as he does on album opener "A Simple Gift", title cut "Just Us", and "One Sad Clown". Just Us is an album consisting largely of his own compositions inspired by his two main guitars "Merle" and "Pearl".
